Wind energy

Wind energy is an energy source that results from converting kinetic energy into electricity. The kinetic energy is achieved by the application of wind power, which is a natural movement of the atmosphere, which arises from the differences in air pressure. By application of the wind force on a wind turbine, the kinetic energy is converted into electricity.

The partners of Edelweiss Renewables Advisors jointly have over 30 years experience in wind energy and have developed, financed, acquired and realized many projects. We have witnessed the professionalization of the market at close quarters and we had the opportunity  to contribute and still do this with pleasure and passion. Wind turbines have experienced an enormous development in the past 20 years into serious energy production means, which get a growing share in our energy supply.

Solar-energy

Solar energy is an energy source which is powered by the sun through heat and light. Although the sun is 150 million kilometers away from Earth, it produces, with a certain difference in yield by continent, by country and province, sufficient energy by using solar panels or PV (photovoltaic) cells to convert it into electricity.

Edelweiss Renewables Advisors has since 2000 been involved in various projects and investments in the field of solar energy, nationally and internationally, and today we are involved in several new projects in the field of development and financing.

Biomass

In the ‘European Directive on the promotion of electricity from renewable energy sources in the internal electricity market’ (Directive 2001/77/EC), the following definition for biomass is used: “The biological degradable fraction of products, waste substances and residues from agriculture (including vegetal and animal substances), forestry and related industries, as well as the biologically degradable fraction of industrial and municipal waste.”

A variety of conversion processes can be used to make biomass easier in use, such as:

  • thermal chemical conversion
  • bio chemical conversion
  • mechanical conversion
  • combinations of the afore mentioned 3 conversion processes

Within the 3 conversion processes various technologies are available.
